Junction.

What it means in interior design.

A junction is where two materials or planes meet: floor to wall, wall to ceiling, tile to timber. It is where workmanship shows, and where most perceived quality is decided.

In practice

Draw every junction you care about instead of leaving it to the builder: what stops, what overlaps, what goes in first. Clients rarely notice a good junction, but they always notice a bad one.
