About the guide,

who makes it and how it is written.

The interior design guide is a free knowledge base for interior designers. It explains how space, colour, light, sound, temperature and style work in a home, then walks through the decisions a project runs through, in the order they are made.

Who makes it.

Rayon.

The guide is written and maintained by the team at Rayon, the collaborative design app. It is free to read, to share and to cite, and it carries no advertising.

How it is written.

Practice first, sources named.

Each page starts from established design practice and from the published standards that govern it, such as the ADA Standards for Accessible Design or the International Building Code. A number that comes from a rule always names the rule, its jurisdiction and its edition. Measurements are metric, and the units switch converts them to imperial. Figures are drawn to explain an idea, not to scale a project, and every page shows when it was last updated.

Using it with AI.

Your assistant can read it too.

The guide is published for people and for AI assistants alike. Its pages, its Lexicon and its answers are available as plain text, and its MCP server lets Claude or ChatGPT search the guide and cite the pages they used.

Terms of use.
