Wet room.

What it means in interior design.

A wet room is a bathroom where the shower floor is level with the rest and the whole room is waterproofed (tanked) and drains to a floor gully. There is no tray and often no screen.

In practice

The floor needs a fall to the drain, built into a sloped former, and the tanking must run continuously up the walls. In timber floors the drain may mean notching joists or raising the floor, so plan it before first fix.
